This privacy policy describes how Mr Editor collects, uses, and discloses information in connection with the Mr Editor website and photo generation service (the “Service”).

1. Information we collect

Account information, including your name and email address, provided through our authentication provider. Photographs you submit and the images generated from them. Transaction information, including your credit balance, plan, and purchase history. Payment card details are collected and stored by our payment processor; we do not store full card numbers. Device and usage information, including IP address, browser type, and records of how the Service is used.

2. How we use information

We use the information described above to create and administer accounts, process purchases, generate images, maintain your history, provide support, diagnose faults, measure and improve the Service, and detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents. We do not sell photographs you submit or images generated from them.

3. Service providers

We share information with third parties that perform services on our behalf, including Clerk for authentication, Stripe for payment processing, OpenAI for image generation, and Vercel for hosting and file storage. These providers receive only the information necessary to perform their functions and are subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

4. Other disclosures

We may disclose information where we believe disclosure is required by law or legal process, necessary to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of all or part of the business.

5. Retention

We retain account and transaction records for as long as the account remains open and thereafter as necessary for tax, accounting, dispute resolution, and abuse prevention purposes. Photographs and generated images may be retained to provide access to your history and are subsequently deleted or de-identified when no longer required. Unused credits expire as described in the terms of service.

6. Security

We maintain reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, and misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Cookies

The Service uses cookies and similar storage technologies for authentication, security, and basic operation of the site. You may block or delete cookies through your browser settings; certain features of the Service will not function if you do so.

8. International transfers

We and our service providers may process and store information in countries other than the country in which you reside, including the United States, which may have different data protection laws.

9. Your choices and rights

You may review and update your profile information in your account settings. You may request closure of your account or deletion of photographs by contacting us at the address below. We may retain information we are required or permitted by law to retain. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights in respect of your personal information, including rights of access, correction, deletion, and portability; contact us to exercise them and we will respond as required by applicable law.

10. Children

The Service is not directed to and may not be used by anyone under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The version posted on this page is the version that applies.
